Isobel McCallum
I have lived on the Black Isle most of my life. My three daughters attended Munlochy Primary and Fortrose Academy.
I have been privileged to represent the Black Isle on Highland Council since 2003 and I would like to continue working for you.
As an Independent candidate, I am free to make decisions that I feel best reflect the needs of our local community. As such I am not aligned with a political party. Over the last 9 years I have worked with fellow Independent councillor Billy Barclay to achieve the best for the Black Isle.
Over the last 9 years I have addressed each issue on its merits and its impact on our community. I have spoken and consulted with communities and represented their views.
To ensure the continuing vitality of our area we must keep pressing for more affordable housing and secure employment.
I will
- Fight to keep all rural schools open
- Lobby to secure an increased budget for roads at all levels
- Remain committed to increasing affordable housing
- Promote energy efficiency
- Ensure that rural areas’ transport needs are met
- Assist communities to develop and improve their assets
- Continue to encourage the planning process to take into account local opinion
- Support improved services and projects to benefit older people and our young folk
- Promote local food producers
I believe my experience makes me well placed to represent you. I am genuinely interested in the issues that affect you, the people of the Black Isle.
Given the opportunity, I promise to work diligently on your behalf.
